How do I deal with or post incomplete rounds?
If you only post 5 scores, for instance, then the problem is what is the golfer's total gross and adjusted gross for the round?
Three ways you can handle this situation...
Method 1:
According to USGA rules at least seven holes must be played in order to post a score. If at least 7 holes are played, the remaining unplayed holes, for handicap purposes, shall be recorded as par plus any handicap strokes that the player is entitled to receive on the unplayed holes
Example: A player with a Course Handicap of 15 stops playing after 7 holes because of darkness. Hole 8 is a par 5 and is the number two stroke hole. The player would receive two handicap strokes on this hole. He will record 5 (par) plus 2 (handicap strokes to which he is entitled) for a 7 on hole 8. Hole 9 is a par 3 and is the number 18 stroke hole. The player will record 3 (par) plus 1 (handicap stroke to which he is entitled) for a 4 on hole 9.
Method 2:
Do not enter the scorecard for any golfer that has an incomplete round...just type in the points you determine he/she should receive.
To manually assign any points to a golfer:
- Open the Main Menu, and click "2. Play" under Event Administrator.
- Click on player name link.
- Type in the points & check the box to lock.
Since no Adjusted gross score is posted the incomplete round has no effect on the golfer's handicap.
Method 3:
If you wish to post a golfer's incomplete score (with invalid totals), make sure this score does not affect their handicap.
After you have posted the score cards in "2. Play" under Event Administrator, click on the player name link. Type in "0" for their "AGS" and check the box to lock..
Handicaps are based on a golfer's "Adjusted Gross Score," and if a zero is entered, it is as though they never played for their handicap.

(i) When fewer than 13 holes are played, except when nine-hole scores are combined; (In a nine-hole round at least seven holes must be played in order to post a score);
b. Posting a Score if 13 or More Holes Are Played

Hole 18 is a par 4 and is the number 12 stroke hole. The player will record 4 (par) plus 2 (handicap strokes to which he is entitled) for a 6 on hole 18.
